Fairfield Activities

Fairfield is a lively and fun-loving community. Festivals and community activities take place nearly every month of the calendar, and there is always something for everyone to do.

Each summer, the Fairfield Downtown Association hosts Fairfield’s Certified Farmers Market, which boasts fresh fruits, vegetables, and bakery items from only local and regional growers.

On the second Saturday in August, be sure to visit Fairfield’s famed Tomato Festival celebrating Northern California’s agricultural heritage. Each year, the festival features nearly 100 varieties of tomatoes and tomato products to sample and purchase.

On the second Saturday of October, check out the annual Candy Festival—a delicious treat for the whole family. Over 20 candy companies attend and provide a sampling of their best products.

Also held every year in Fairfield: The Chili Cook-Off and Car Show, Holiday Night of Lights, Independence Day Parade, and Veterans Day Parade.

Suisun City Activities

Suisun City prides itself on a small town atmosphere without sacrificing any big city conveniences—such as fun and games during any month of the year.

The new Harbor Plaza boasts a raised stage area and sloped lawn, making the perfect setting for summer concerts and plays.

Also in the summer is Suisun City’s famous Fourth of July Celebration, which has become Solano County’s largest Independence Day celebration and fireworks show.

During July and August, Suisun City hosts a weekly Sunday Jazz Concert Series featuring jazz artists and bands from virtually anywhere in the United States.

Be sure to check out the Suisun Harbor Bike Race in August—a community favorite—as well as the Waterfront Festival in October for more of Suisun City’s hometown charm.

In the mood for a little festivity during the holiday season? You won’t want to miss Christmas in Old Town, which takes place on the first Saturday in December. The event includes a lighted boat parade along the Marina, Santa’s arrival by boat, the lighting of a Christmas tree, festival bonfire, and Christmas caroling. It is one of Solano County’s best holiday celebrations.
